I love him. End of story.
First off like Jen told me it takes so little time to put the couple things together to get your guy up and running. I was in a panic to get started that I made the mistake to not pick up things off the floor like I normally do. After a few swipes across my carpet and marveling at the love of my life, Dyson, I heard an awful sound. Woopsie my man Dyson chewed up a cell phone charger cord. Normally I would be upset but I felt so proud of Dyson. I wanted to stroke him and say, "yeah good boy you show them what a sucker you are, they should have gotten out of your way".
I also likened it to those pet owners who own vicious dogs who snap at smaller dogs. You know the ones. The little pooch should have stayed away from the big dogs.
Ok not really but that is the best I can come up with.
Bullet points (with no bullets).
Awesome
My god the trigger lever to dispose of the grossness - AWESOME. I think I heard the angels sing from heaven when I pressed the lever and the yuckiness fell out.
All the shizz that came with it.
So easy and not a war and peace size manual. Only two pages or so and most of that is diagrams. I like manuals for dummies.
Oh the smell as you are vacuuming. THE SMELL OF CLEAN.
End of non bullet - bullet points.
Now for pictures
Pardon the trash picture, but in my excitedness to push the lever I forgot to take a picture of the nasty stuff IN MY DYSON canister. So yeah sorry to gross you out with the trash pic.
Holy Jeebus look at all that shizz!!
Good call on me getting the pet vacuum version.
The charger to the cell phone. Red circle shows where the cord is no more.
RIP cell phone charger. You were a good friend but you should have known better than to get in Dyson's way.
The love of my life, like seriousy. I am not joking. Do you see me laughing? This is my man and he brought me gifts, how thoughtful.
House of Fraser
I was there yesterday. I love that place. Did you know they take expired coupons and they will take one for each item you buy? I did not know that until recently.
1I haven't been there in a while. But it's a nice place to shop around in on a free Saturday.
2Is it a Dyson?
3Yep I got a Dyson. 117 dollars off with my BB&B 20% off coupon.
4Wow! Awesome deal, Aud! Take pictures, and let us know how you like it. (Who knew I'd ever get excited over a vacuum cleaner?
)
5I paid more money and got the pet vacuum.
But Steeler sheds so damn much (as do I) that I didn't want to risk screwing up the yellow model. Plus we have allergies.
6Awesome - welcome to my Dyson World. It is a clean clean place!! Or at least the floors are now!
7You lucky girl!!
8if you don't mind me asking, was it around $700.?
9I paid around $410 or so for it. I'd have too look for my receipt. It was originally $549 but I got 20% off.
10niiiiiiice!!!! I wish I could get one! I've been hearing good stuff about them! I bet you wanted a pink one
11man, I want a boyfriend like that!
12That's it. I'm saving for one!
OOOOOh AAAAAAh... I've been thinking about getting the Animal. Is that the one you got, aud? Glad to know you love it. Any negatives at all (yet)? Good call on the BB&B coupon.
13yep i got the animal. no negatives yet. but i have used it once and only had it a few hours.
14I'm getting all excited over the dirt picture! It is so rewarding, isn't it?!
15Please update us if you find any interesting positives or negatives in the future.
Dysons are AWESOME....they rock!
I got one while I still lived in Scotland. I lived in an 1880s home for a few years that had coal fires and needed a lot of renovation, plus I have a long-haired kitty.... and this thing really did the job for me.
I like it so much that when I moved here to Finland, I gave it a bath (the washable parts anyway), dried it off, and packed it up. Works just as well as it always did, I just use a wee adapter for the European plugs.
Always nice these days to find something that works THAT good without fail and is SO well designed!
16wait im confused.. one post says 117 another says 4something?
17wait im confused.. one post says 117 another says 4something?
18i paid a little over 415 dollars on it SweetC. I saved 117 dollars (or so) because normally this model retails for 549 dollars.
19Yay!! I'm so glad you like it, and I really think I should have probably gotten the pet hair version as well, but my version does pick up after Samson very well.
20Ashley - FYI you can upgrade and get the pet attachments if you hav eteh trust ol yellow (or pink) bugger - they are more expensive if you don't buy the bundle AKA the Animal, AKA Aud's new boyfriend, AKA greatest invention ever!
This blog is cracking me up - I never thought I would be so excited about a vacuum until my virgin session with my Dyson! Now I know I not the only one who was instantly in love with their vacuum - Thank you Audrey!
21i thought this was going to be a rip on quad blog, lol.
glad you are enjoying your new toy! looks awesome
22Jenny, thanks for letting me know, I will look into it!
23SO jealous!
24Your new boyfriend is gorgeous!
My poor Dyson isn't doing so well these days. Maybe we've
overworked him.
25oh no!!!! for real? how long have you had it? what is it doing (or not doing)?
26We got our Dyson in 2002 but it stopped sucking last year. I couldn't find the manual, probably got lost in a move. So I did some research online and read that if it's not sucking like it should, you should clean the filter. Apparently you're supposed to wash the filter every six months (on the turbo barrel model anyway) but we had never washed it.
Anyway, we cleaned the filter and it started sucking again but not like it used to IMO
and now the floor tool isn't working properly. We have to unjam is constantly.
27OMG! He is beautiful!
Maybe he could come visit me sometime?
